What are the Chances I’ll Have to Get My Breast Implants Removed?

Let’s face it. Breast augmentation is surgery and all surgery carries some risk of side effects. These side effects are minimized when you choose a board-certified plastic surgeon who has performed hundreds of these surgeries before. For women with breast implants, some of those side effects include a rupture to the implant, infection, nerve damage and pain.  Some women also change their minds about the size, appearance or shape of their new set. Sorry to be a Debbie Downer – we just wanted to give it to you straight.

Now here’s the good news: the majority of breast augmentation patients don’t have to have their implants removed or replaced. In fact, two recent surveys from the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery found 89 percent of those who had breast augmentation were happy with their results, while 94 percent said they would recommend the procedure to others.
