Recontour Your Legs

Significant weight gain followed by extreme weight loss can cause the skin to become flabby and lose laxity. If this has caused sagging skin on the upper thighs or lower part of your body, a thigh lift may be the procedure for you.

What is a Thigh Lift?

The thigh lift, also known as a lower body lift, and excessive skin removal procedure Dr. Lawton performs in her Newport Beach outpatient clinic can correct the overstretched, inelastic, hanging skin of the thighs and buttocks. Skin laxity (looseness) also occurs as a result of the aging process due to both genetics and the environment. As a result of excess hanging skin, patients find themselves limited in their activities and clothing choices and feel uncomfortable with their appearance.

Am I a Candidate?

If you are one of those patients who would like their clothing to fit better, to have better ease of movement, and even the desire to wear shorts with comfort and bicycle, walk, run, or swim without having friction between your legs, then a thigh lift may be the answer.

How Does It Work?

Thigh lift surgeon Dr. Lawton, a board-certified plastic surgeon, will place incisions in the natural groin crease; this serves to cover scars as well. The excess skin is removed and the tissues lifted. This greatly improves contour from the groin to the knees. During your consultation for this Newport Beach thigh lift and excessive skin removal procedure, Dr. Tenley will examine you to determine if excessive skin removal is necessary as this will require a scar running from your groin crease to the knee. Thigh lift surgery takes approximately 3 to 4 hours based on body type and lifts requirements. In general, Dr. Lawton performs this thigh lift and excessive skin removal procedure on an outpatient basis in her accredited Newport Beach surgery facility. In some cases, it may require an overnight stay in the hospital depending on your overall health and the extent of the thigh lift surgery.
