What are the Steps of a HydraFacial®?

A HydraFacial® is a multi-stage treatment that improves your skin, giving you a smoother, more radiant complexion. Patients typically seek this treatment from Dr. Tenley Lawton for conditions such as hyperpigmentation, enlarged pores, oily skin, mild acne, sagging skin, and fine line and wrinkles. HydraFacial® works by cleansing, exfoliating, and extracting impurities from the skin, and then nourishing it with hydrating compounds.

The goal of HydraFacial® is to enhance the skin’s natural capacity to repair and rejuvenate. From around age 20, our bodies produce around one percent less collagen per year, leading to the formation of lines, wrinkles, and other skin ailments. This therapy combines treatments that seek to slow, stop, and possibly reverse this process by activating the innate regeneration potential of cells.

Step 1: Cleanse & Peel

Step one of the HydraFacial® procedure is the cleanse and peel. This stage involves removing the top layer of skin and uncovering the layer beneath using an exfoliating tip.

Step 2: Extract & Hydrate

The next step is to unclog pores and remove debris using painless suction. To do this, we use the HydraFacial® patented Vortex-Fusion delivery system, which naturally draws out blackheads and other impurities, providing pores with an opportunity to heal and recover from long-term imbalances.

The suction system uses HydraPeel® tips in combination with HydraFacial® vacuum technology to remove long-standing impurities and deliver nourishing serums to the skin. Unlike many similar procedures, patients experience minimal discomfort using this method. Most report experiencing a painless slight tingling sensation as clinicians apply devices to their faces.

Step 3: Fuse & Protect

Once we remove dead skin cells and gently extract debris, we then provide nourishment and hydration to the freshly-revealed skin using a potent mix of peptides, hyaluronic acids, and other agents that support the production of collagen. The result is a firmer, tighter, and more glowing complexion with fewer visible lines and wrinkles.

Am I a Candidate for a HydraFacial®?

Because HydraFacial® is non-invasive, most people are good candidates for the procedure. The therapy is ideal for anyone wanting to reduce the appearance of large pores, eliminate oily or congested skin, or reduce the visibility of brown spots (hyperpigmentation). It is also useful for those looking for more even skin tone and texture, greater elasticity and firmness, or fewer lines and wrinkles. In short, HydraFacial® is for everyone.

Before getting a HydraFacial®, you should consult with Dr. Lawton about what to expect from the treatment. HydraFacial® is effective because it uses a combination of techniques to improve your skin’s visual appearance, including both peels and serums. Many patients see visible results quickly with minimal downtime, helping them feel more confident in their daily lives. It is an excellent therapy for anyone who wants to look rejuvenated or revitalized, either for a special event or more generally.

Dr. Lawton is a wonderful surgeon. I received a breast augmentation from her with Allergans new shaped 410 implants and I LOVE my results. They look very natural and there was barely any downtime. I was back to work four days later and no one could even tell. The staff is great but mostly I loved the time Dr. Lawton spent with me. I felt that as a woman she truly understood what I wanted. I would definitely refer her to friends and family.
