Breast Implant Replacement

Exchange Your Breast Implants

For many people, breast augmentation can help improve confidence – but what happens to patients who are unhappy with their breast implants? Whether a victim of a bad plastic surgery procedure or no longer happy with their current implant size, breast implant replacement can help these patients achieve the look they’ve always wanted.

What is Breast Implant Replacement?

The primary goal of breast implant replacement is exactly that – to remove the damaged or outdated implant and to replace it with the kind of implant that the patient actually wants. Breast implant replacement is available at board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. Tenley Lawton’s practice in Newport Beach, CA.

Consultations Available Now

The first step is to schedule an in-person consultation with Dr. Lawton or one of our trusted providers at Tenley K Lawton M.D. in Newport Beach, CA. Simply fill out the form on this page and we will reach out to you promptly to schedule your appointment.

Am I a Candidate?

There are a number of reasons why patients may want to undergo breast implant replacement surgery, which can include:

  • Damaged implant
  • Ruptured implant
  • Capsular contracture
  • You are no longer happy with the current size of your breast implants

In addition to the above reasons, the best candidates for breast implant replacement are healthy individuals (non-smokers) who are 21+ and have realistic expectations for the outcome of their procedure. For patients who just want to remove their implants without replacing them, Dr. Lawton also offers breast implant removal surgery.

How Does It Work?

The breast implant replacement procedure is very similar to breast augmentation surgery. The surgical session takes about two hours to perform. Dr. Lawton will remove the old implant. Then, Dr. Lawton replaces the old implant with the new one. In most cases, incisions will be made along the old surgical scar lines, so you won’t have to worry about additional scarring.

Real Patients Real Stories

Results*

If your breast implants are replaced, you can expect your breasts to appear improved to your ideal shape or size. Dr. Lawton will discuss the exact results you can expect during your initial consultation.

Recovery*

For the first week, patients will need to rest and recover; it’s recommended that you sleep as propped up as you can, and have someone at home who can help with making meals. You won’t be able to lift anything, so mothers with younger children will need to plan for in-home childcare.

You should be able to return to work after the first 1 to 2 weeks. Patients are advised not to exercise until 3 to 4 weeks into recovery. Dr. Lawton will work with you to develop a personalized recovery plan.
