There is no “right” age for a mommy makeover, just as there is no “right” age to start a family. Both are very personal decisions that shouldn’t be taken lightly. Rather, they tend to involve much planning, discussion and, ultimately, excitement! Still, there are better times than others to pull the trigger.
For example, the results of a breast lift, breast augmentation, or tummy tuck will last much longer if these procedures are performed after you’ve had all your children. Breastfeeding should also be completed at least three months before a lift or augmentation. This isn’t to say that women who would like to consider children in the future shouldn’t reap all the benefits a Mommy Makeover can bestow. It simply means the work done to these areas will last longer if the body will not be undergoing the process of pregnancy in the future.
Some moms like to invest in mommy makeovers as soon as they’re done having children – oftentimes in their mid- to late 30s – to restore their bodies and maintain their youthful post-baby appearance. Others opt for a refresher once the children are a little older and they feel they’re experiencing the signs of aging. This often occurs in their 40s when women realize their children are relatively self-sufficient and they can take some time out for themselves. A mommy makeover at this time in life can be the perfect way to restore a little self-confidence and add that extra pep in your step as you reclaim more of your social life.
