How Much Does an Arm Lift Cost?

If you’ve developed sagging skin under your arms due to weight loss, aging, or genetics, you might be considering an arm lift. Brachioplasty (arm lift) is a cosmetic surgery that reshapes the under portion of the upper arm.

According to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the average cost of an arm lift in 2018 was $4,482. This price is only part of the total cost of the surgery and can vary depending on a number of factors. Dr. Tenley K. Lawton can provide you with a more accurate quote that takes into consideration your needs and aesthetic goals.

What Determines the Cost of an Arm Lift?

The choice to undergo arm lift surgery is not only a personal decision, but it’s also a financial commitment.

Related expenses may include:

  • Anesthesia fees
  • Surgical facility costs
  • Medical tests
  • Post-surgery garments
  • Prescriptions
  • The geographic region of the office
  • Surgeon’s fee
  • Follow-up visits or procedures

Dr. Lawton’s fee is based on her years of experience performing arm lift surgery. Most health insurance plans don’t cover this procedure or related complications.

How Long Will the Procedure Take?

Arm lift surgery is typically performed as outpatient surgery and can be completed within 2-3 hours. This total time may vary based on your overall health and the extent of your individual procedure. You will need to arrange for someone to drive you home and stay with you the first night.

CONSULTATIONS AVAILABLE NOW

The first step is to schedule an in-person consultation with Dr. Lawton or one of our trusted providers at Tenley K Lawton M.D. in Neport Beach, CA. Simply fill out the form on this page and we will reach out to you promptly to schedule your appointment.

What Results Can I Expect?

Although initial results may be obscured by bruising and swelling, the slimmer contours of your arms will be immediately noticeable. Over time, as your body heals and swelling decreases, your skin will appear more firm. You will have a scar where the incision was made, but most patients find it to be well worth their more toned and defined upper arms.

Optimal Outcome

In some cases, optimal results may not be possible with a single procedure, and a follow-up surgery may be necessary. Even with an optimal outcome, you can expect to lose some firmness due to the natural aging process.

Long-Lasting Results

Following your post-operative recovery instructions, staying fit, and maintaining a stable weight will help ensure your improvements will be long-lasting. Most patients are able to return to work or school and resume some activities within two weeks. Normal activities can resume within six weeks.

Choose an Experienced Surgeon

Choosing a board-certified plastic surgeon, like Dr. Lawton, is important to minimize post-surgery complications and downtime. Your comfort with your surgeon and confidence in his or her experience is also an important consideration when deciding to move forward.

During your consultation, Dr. Lawton will discuss your options and take the time to explain all aspects of your arm lift procedure. Once you’re ready to proceed, she will recommend a course of treatment that incorporates your aesthetic goals. If your procedure is not covered by your insurance, you can take advantage of the various financing options we offer through our partnership with Care Credit.

Awesome! Dr. Lawton was very straightforward and has a great bedside manner. Erin was beyond helpful especially in the size selection process for my implants !
