Can I Fade My Scars?

Your tummy tuck scar will generally begin to lighten and fade on its own within several months. It can take up to one year or more for your scar to lighten completely. Dr. Lawton will provide you with a scar management plan that will minimize scarring as much as possible. The best way to keep scars as small as possible is to avoid stretching, pulling, and abrasion throughout the recovery process.

In many cases, your scar may be only noticeable to you after a certain amount of time. Dr. Lawton will walk you through every aspect of your procedure during your consultation phase. She makes herself available to answer any questions or concerns you may have so you can make an informed decision about what’s right for you.
