How Much is Rhinoplasty in California?

As the focal point of the face, your nose draws attention. If you feel self-conscious about your nose, it can feel like everyone notices it. Rhinoplasty can give you the nose you want people to see, one that makes you feel confident and self-assured

What is Rhinoplasty?

Rhinoplasty, also known as a “nose job,” is a surgical procedure performed on the nose to correct the shape, size, or overall appearance. Rhinoplasty may reshape the soft tissues, cartilage, and nasal bones to achieve your desired shape. For some procedures, Dr. Lawton may perform closed rhinoplasty. In this procedure, the incisions are all made inside your nose. For more significant reshaping, Dr. Lawton may use open rhinoplasty. This procedure uses a small incision in the skin between the nostrils to give the surgeon more access to the structure of the nose.

How Much is Rhinoplasty in California?

With many plastic surgeons available, prices for rhinoplasty in California can vary widely. Your area and the provider you choose will affect your cost. The American Society of Plastic Surgeons estimates that the average rhinoplasty costs $5,483. This does not include other costs like medications, anesthesia, and medical tests.

What are the Types of Rhinoplasty?

Surgeons can perform rhinoplasty to help people achieve their cosmetic goals, but they can also improve functional problems to help people breathe better.

Cosmetic Rhinoplasty

A cosmetic rhinoplasty reshapes the nose to achieve a harmonious, natural appearance. People choose cosmetic rhinoplasty because they feel self-conscious about the appearance of their noses. This procedure can make changes to the nose, including the size, width, angle, and straightness.

Functional Rhinoplasty

A functional rhinoplasty restores the function of the nose after an injury. Broken noses can lead to problems such as a deviated septum. Dr. Lawton recommends having a broken nose corrected as soon as possible.

Some rhinoplasties are both cosmetic and functional. If you have a chronic problem with the structure of your nose but also want to see aesthetic improvements, Dr. Lawton will work with you to develop a treatment plan to achieve these goals.

What is Recovery Like From Rhinoplasty?

After surgery, you will have some swelling that starts to resolve within three days. If your job does not require physical activity, you can return within five to ten days. You will still have some residual swelling and bruising, but this will continue to improve. More active jobs may require two to four weeks before you can return to your usual work. You will also need to wait for at least this long before resuming strenuous exercise.

Am I a Candidate for Rhinoplasty?

If you feel unhappy with the appearance of your nose, you may be a good candidate for rhinoplasty. If you have problems breathing because of a structural problem with your nose, you may also be a good candidate.
