The phrase “one size does not fit all” has never been more true than when it comes to breast implants. There are so, so many factors that go into a woman’s very personal decision about the size of her breasts. These factors can range from health concerns to aesthetics, level of activity, career and even clothing style.
Regardless of your motivating factors, the decision should come solely from you. The last thing you (or we!) want is someone else’s idea of the perfect size affixed permanently to your chest. Even if you have a healthy outlook and the right frame of mind, however, the decision regarding implant size can be a hard one.
Luckily, there are some things to consider before settling on the final cc (cubic centimeters) size. The easiest way to determine the ideal size for you is to interact with the actual implants. You can feel the size, shape and volume of various-sized implants. You can even insert the implants into a sports bra during your appointment to see what that particular size may look like on you.
Experienced, board-certified plastic surgeons like Dr. Tenley Lawton will also have tons of before-and-after pictures that can help you picture your results. Pay special attention to the women who have frames and “before” breasts that are similar to yours. While no two breast implant surgeries produce the exact same results, this should give you a rough understanding of what your new girls would look like.
As we mentioned before, there are also a number of practical considerations that must be taken into account before settling on your ultimate size. Are you looking to buy a new wardrobe? Do you run daily? Does your career have an extremely conservative dress code? While none of these answers should strictly rule out the choice of larger breasts, they are priorities to be considered. Women with breast implants can obviously still maintain a modest appearance, though you may have to spend a bit more time downplaying your new assets.
Conversely, if you’re looking to go larger, a new wardrobe might be just what the doctor ordered (no pun intended)! The size of your breast implants should always come down to what will make you feel the most confident and comfortable, taking into account other factors like your health and lifestyle.
