The Procedure

Generally incisions are camouflaged in natural creases around the ear and in the hairline. The position and length of the incision vary depending upon the degree of changes that need to be corrected. To provide a longer lasting and effective facelift, the support structures of the face are tightened and re-suspended along with the removal of excess fat and skin.

Surgery usually lasts between 3 and 4 hours in length and is performed in an accredited surgery center or hospital. It is usually suggested that patients have an overnight stay at an aftercare facility the night of surgery. All patients are seen the morning following surgery and then you are able to return home.

Results

Having a facelift does not stop the aging process. The results of a facelift may last 5-10 years and you may want to repeat the procedure in the future. The effects of a facelift are, however, lasting. You will continue to look better and younger than if you had never had the surgery at all.
