Chemical Peel
Chemical Peels are used to create an even and controlled shedding of damaged skin cells. Each year thousands of chemical peels are performed in the
United States. Chemical peels use a solution applied to the skin to remove dead skin cells and stimulate the production of new skin cells. It tightens
the skin, reduces fine wrinkling and restores a more youthful appearance.
A light peel will result in a period of 3 days of peeling followed by a few days of redness that can be camouflaged with makeup. A deeper peel will require
a longer recovery of 4-5 days with peeling and subsequent redness for 7-10 days which can be covered with makeup when the skin heals. A chemical peel is beneficial
for individuals with facial blemishes, fine lines and wrinkles, and uneven skin pigmentation, from age or sun exposure.
